The First 100 Days of Congress: It’s Time For a Performance Review

Republicans swept the polls in November 2014, but if you closed your eyes, you might have sworn it was 2008: talk of change, progress and a return to order dominated the rhetoric. With commanding control of the legislature, GOP lawmakers swore to bury themselves in the business of governing, which they said had been neglected for years under Democrat control.

So: how are they doing?

For this series of articles, we at the Morning Consult decided to evaluate the 114th Congress as we might evaluate a new presidency, using its first 100 days to see what lawmakers have accomplished so far, and make an educated guess as to what they’re likely to accomplish going forward.
