President Obama today said the U.S. State Department “has decided that the Keystone XL pipeline would not serve the national interest of the United States.” He said he agrees, and he noted some of the reasons for the State Department’s decision.
“The pipeline would not make a meaningful long-term contribution to our economy,” he said at the White House, flanked by Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice President Joe Biden. “The pipeline would not lower gas prices for American consumers.”
