The share of baby boomers who said they feel anxious is 40%, compared with 63% of Gen Z adults, 61% of millennials and 53% of Gen Xers. Baby boomers are also the smallest share, at 24%, to report feeling angry — also at least 13 percentage points lower than the other generations.

Twitter experienced an 8-point decrease in net trust between 12 months of 2020 and 2022, while Facebook saw a 6-point decrease. A loss in trust was cited by 48% of consumers in September as the reason they stopped using a social media platform in the past year.

The country with the single largest decline in net favorability — the share of favorable views minus unfavorable views — was Japan, where adults are now nearly twice as likely to have a negative view than a positive view of Brazil. Among adults in 15 democracies across the world, favorable views of Brazil declined by an average of 2 points following the attacks, while unfavorable views rose by an average of 5 points.

Trust in cryptocurrency fell 7 points year over year, from 35% in January 2022 to 28% in January 2023. The same trend holds true for specific coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which saw 6-point and 12-point drops in trust, respectively, compared with last January.
