In Kansas City, Conservatives Hit Koster With Another Geo-Targeted Ad

The conservative group America Rising’s Missouri chapter, Missouri Rising, is again criticizing the state’s Democratic governor candidate, Attorney General Chris Koster — this time on the party’s home turf.

When Missouri Democrats get together Saturday evening for their annual Truman gala — this year at Arrowhead Stadium — the group plans to geo-target an ad with the message, “Chris Koster: He’s Not On Our Team,” the group told Missouri Consult.

“As Democrats gather at Arrowhead Stadium, it’s important to remember that Chris Koster is a politician that’s on the opposing sideline,” said Jeremy Adler, spokesman for Missouri Rising. “It’s a happy coincidence that Democrats convene at the home of the Chiefs because a thorough examination of Chris Koster’s record shows that he is the wrong guy to lead Missouri’s offense going forward.”

The ad, which will appear on Facebook, features Koster wearing the colors of the Denver Broncos, a bitter rival of the Kansas City Chiefs. Earlier this year, the group targeted Koster with a sports-themed ad in St. Louis on opening day for the St. Louis Cardinals.

While Koster is shoring up support among his base, four Republicans are fighting for their party’s nomination in what could be one of the top governors races this year.
