  • Pinterest Inc. hired Celestine Maddy, the former senior vice president of marketing and communications at coworking space The Wing, as its head of consumer and brand marketing, a new role for the platform. Celestine, who left The Wing in July after just six months, now leads global consumer brand strategy and campaigns, product marketing, social media and content innovation at Pinterest, reporting directly to Chief Marketing Officer Andréa Mallard.   • Following WPP PLC’s announcement that it would merge its Grey and AKQA agencies to form AKQA Group, and subsequent media reports that the Grey brand would eventually be retired, Procter & Gamble Co. Chief Brand Officer Marc Pritchard called WPP Chief Executive Mark Read in distress over the move, according to three people close to the business. WPP reportedly reassured the consumer goods giant, which has worked with Grey for seven decades and spent $4.3 billion on measured media in the United States in 2019, that the merger would take time and that the Grey brand will not be killed off right away.
