  • Following NBCUniversal’s 2019 announcement that it will stop selling local ads based on long-used TV ratings and shift those transactions to be based on impressions, the company said that come April, it will close a window that gave additional time to clients and agencies that needed to evaluate the impacts of the decision. The shift will impact ad deals at NBCUniversal’s 42 NBC and Telemundo stations, and follows similar moves from many of the biggest TV-station owners in the country, such as Hearst Corp. and Nexstar Media Group Inc.   • Omnicom Group Inc. and Interpublic Group of Cos. eliminated a combined 10,000 roles last year due to the pandemic, according to new annual reports from the two biggest U.S.-listed agency groups. Omnicom, which made most of its cuts during its second quarter, reduced its workforce by 8.4 percent, compared with an 11.1 percent drop in organic revenue, while Interpublic, which made its cuts on a more staggering basis, reduced its staff by 7.6 percent, compared with a 4.8 percent drop in organic revenue.   • Nike Inc. and other prominent sponsors of Tiger Woods shared well wishes for the professional golfer after he was injured in a single-car crash and suffered multiple leg injuries. Nike, which has maintained a business relationship with Woods since his professional debut in 1996, said in a statement that it is keeping up with news of the golfer and thinking of him and his family, while golf equipment brand TaylorMade Golf Co., where Woods developed his first line of signature golf clubs in 2019, and Bridgestone Golf Inc. expressed similar sentiments.
