  • Snapchat, which has been regularly launching performance-based ad products, added a new tool for advertisers that allows them to select app installs as their campaign objectives when using AR Lens campaigns on the platform, use a bidding strategy based on minimum return on ad spend goals and more easily focus their campaigns on in-app conversions. While the additions apply directly to Lens campaigns for now, Snapchat plans to implement goal-based bidding to additional formats such as Story Ads soon. (AdExchanger)
  • Snapchat parent company Snap Inc. acquired music app Voisey, according to filings that show Voisey’s registered address switching to Snap’s office in London. The app looks and feels similar to TikTok, but focuses on music creation, allowing musicians, vocalists and producers to collaborate on its platform, and its acquisition could indicate Snap’s intention to move into the music space. • BuzzFeed Inc. is buying Verizon Media’s HuffPost in a stock deal, as digital media companies search for ways to grow amid setbacks such as the pandemic and increasing competition for advertising dollars from tech giants. As part of the deal, for which financial terms were not disclosed, the companies will share content and advertising opportunities, with Verizon Media getting a minority stake in BuzzFeed as a result.
