  • KKR & Co. has reportedly made a formal offer to privatize Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. in what could be the largest leveraged buyout in history, according to people familiar with the matter. Walgreens, which is valued at roughly $56 billion with a debt of $16.8 billion, and KKR both declined to comment on reports that the private equity firm has been readying the terms of a deal.   • According to new documents obtained by a media outlet, at least eight former officials for President Donald Trump worked as contractors for the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Seema Verma, charging up to $380 per hour while senior CMS communications officials were paid roughly $140,000 for the year. In total, 40 contractors, including eight former White House, presidential transition and campaign officials for President Donald Trump, were hired under a contract worth $2.25 million, with responsibilities such as bolstering Verma’s personal brand.   • Google announced it is partnering with Ascension, one of the largest health systems in the nation, to collect and analyze personal medical data of millions of patients in 21 states. “Project Nightingale” began last year and could give the technology company complete access to people’s full health history — including their names, diagnoses, test results and hospitalization records.
