When it comes to their overall favorite brands, 18-29 year-olds share much in common with older generations. Hershey’s, RITZ Crackers, Pillsbury, Kellogg’s, Heinz, and Oreo all make the top 10 brands among 18-29 year-olds and among the general population. When it comes to how young adults’ preferences differ from the general population, an appetite for energy drinks stands out. Red Bull and Monster Beverage perform significantly better with 18-29 year-olds than they do with the general population.
This data comes from Morning Consult Brand Intelligence, which tracks over 1,700 brands on a daily basis, including over 300 related to the food and beverage industry.

Methodology: The rankings were determined using surveys conducted online among a national sample of adults. Between 2,500 and 50,000 adults rated each of the companies from January through March 2018. The average company was surveyed over 12,000 times.
