Compare a brand’s standing across markets in one query

Summary

See where a global brand is loved, tolerated or disliked without running three separate pulls.

The task

A global brand has a different reputation in every market it operates in, which can be a headache for a communications team looking to protect a brand’s reputation. Pulling data in dozens of markets is painful: One pull per country, each in its own export, each on its own axis, reconciled by hand into a chart that takes too much time to build.

Our AI Connector collapses that into one question. Morning Consult fields the same brand questions, on the same methodology, in markets around the world every day, so a brand’s net favorability in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia sits on one comparable scale. Ask for the markets you care about, on the cadence you want, and the answer comes back as one chart, one time axis, one set of sample sizes.

Prompt

Using Morning Consult data, can I see net favorability of Tesla trending on a quarterly basis in the U.S., Australia and U.K.?

The result

Chart: Tesla net favorability by quarter in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, Q4 2024 to Q3 2026

The AI Connector returns the three markets on one quarterly chart, net favorability on a shared axis, with the sample behind each point. For Tesla, the three lines tell three different stories. In the U.S., the brand has hovered within a few points of neutral for two years, drifting from +5 in late 2024 to roughly zero through 2026. The U.K. is where the damage happened: net favorability fell from +3 at the end of 2024 to −17 by mid-2025, then recovered only partway, to −7 by the third quarter of 2026. Australia, where tracking begins in the third quarter of 2025, has run consistently negative, improving from −11 to −7 over the past year. The U.S. and U.K. points rest on 7,000 to 8,500 interviews each; Australia’s on about 1,800.

Reading the gaps between the lines

The chart raises the question any comms team would ask next: is the U.K. collapse about Tesla, or about something bigger? A follow-up puts the brand’s home-market peers on the same chart. You can add comparison brands as additional lines per market and answer the question directly: whether the competitors moved with Tesla (a category or market story) or held steady while Tesla fell (a brand story). Natural next questions from here:

  • “Show the U.K. trend by age and gender. I want to know whether the recovery is broad or concentrated in one group.”

  • “What are the three quarters with the biggest change in each market, and what was happening in the news those months?”

  • “Build me a standing version of this for the top eight markets we sell in, so I can re-run it each quarter.”

Keep in mind

Name the markets and the cadence. “U.S., Australia and U.K., quarterly” is what you need to specify. If you don’t specify a cadence, you’ll get monthly data for a question. If you don’t specify which markets, you’ll get the U.S. by default.

Check when each market’s tracking starts. Morning Consult’s coverage has expanded market by market, so a brand may have years of history in one country and a few quarters in another. If a line starts later than other lines in the same chart, that’s the data’s honest start date. Ask “when does tracking begin for each market?” if you need to get clarity.

Ask whether the move is yours or the market’s. A drop in one country can be a brand problem or a category problem, and they need different responses. Adding one or two peers to the same chart is the fastest way to tell, and it’s one more sentence in the prompt.
