EPA’s McCarthy Says Action on Climate Change is ‘Moral Obligation’

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy said Tuesday at a speech in Paris that climate change action is “our moral obligation,” and in doing so talked up the EPA’s Clean Power Plan.

“We’re already seeing results to prove we can get the job done while growing the economy,” McCarthy said. “Today, the U.S. is generating three times as much wind power and 30 times as much solar power as we did when President Obama took office.”

McCarthy also pushed back against Republican opposition to the Clean Power Plan by telling conference attendees that “our plan will stick, and it will stand the test of time.”
