  • Blackstone Group Inc. is buying Vungle Inc., a mobile video advertising startup that is used by more than 60,000 mobile app publishers, in a deal that values Vungle at $750 million, according to a person familiar with the matter. As part of the deal, both companies said they have reached a settlement with Zain Jaffer, Vungle’s founder and former chief executive, who was placed on leave after being arrested by local authorities on a child abuse charge in 2017, which was later dropped.   • Fox Corp. saw year-on-year gains in TV ad spending for its primetime lineup in the high single-digit percentage range, according to a person familiar with the matter, who said ad demand was stronger than expected. In 2018, Fox drew an increase of only 1 to 2 percent in ad commitments for its primetime lineup, which totaled an estimated $1.48 billion to $1.67 billion. (Variety
  • CBS Corp. and Viacom Inc. have set Aug. 8 as the target deadline to agree to a merger deal, according to people familiar with the matter, which is also the day that both companies report second-quarter earnings. (CNBC)
